As a Laundry Assistant, you'll be part of a high-performing barrier laundry operation, handling significant volumes of personal and commercial laundry with precision, care and consistency. Working with specialist equipment and structured processes, you'll help ensure every item is returned to the right place, at the right time, to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
Delivering an efficient, safe and reliable barrier laundry service
Handling and processing large volumes of laundry with accuracy and care
Maintaining excellent hygiene standards in line with health & safety and infection control procedures
Keeping laundry equipment, stores and working areas clean, organised and well maintained
Supporting smooth day-to-day operations, including weekend working where required
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation
Occasionally supporting inter-site laundry transport
Taking pride in every item you process, because it matters to the people who receive it
Driving Duties (Secondary Responsibility)
Driving is not a core part of the role and will only be required when regular laundry drivers are unavailable (e.g. due to sickness or annual leave)
When required, responsibilities will include driving a Luton van to support deliveries and collections
This vehicle can be driven on a standard car licence
Working Pattern
18 hours per week, with flexibility in how hours are worked
Flexibility is essential to provide cover for driver absences when required

Requirements
Essential
A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude
Good attention to detail and ability to follow processes
Ability to work in a structured, fast-paced environment
Understanding of health & safety and hygiene standards
Full UK Driving License
Desirable
Experience in laundry, cleaning, hospitality or care environments
Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment
Awareness of infection control practices
