We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Paddock Attendant. An individual could be successful if they possess the following. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the daily upkeep and cleaning of the interior and exterior of the Racing paddock, including floors, partitions, walls, and doors and walkways before, during and after the races. Responsible for maintaining area free of animal waste and associated odors. Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required. Mixes chemicals and operates cleaning equipment as assigned, adhering to established safety protocol. Maintains and cleans equipment after use, and keeps area organized and free from hazards. Provides excellent guest services, treating guests and team members with courtesy and consideration at all times. Cooperates and communicates with all fellow team members, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude. Maintains excellent working relationships with other departments and all applicable regulatory commissions and vendors as needed. May be assigned to various venues throughout the property depending on business needs. Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience a plus but not required High School grad or GED preferred but not required Guest service experience preferred. Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all EVS team members. Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arkansas Racing License. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee could be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted second hand tobacco smoke. Employee will be exposed to cleaning chemicals. The noise level in this environment could be high.
