Responsibilities

  • Work with test engineers and technicians to conduct static load tests (SLT) at AST's Site 2 in Midland, Texas.

Requirements

  • Education
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (compliant with U.S. ITAR regulations).
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical/structural analysis of spacecraft.
  • Expertise in FEMAP and NASTRAN, including:
  • Finite element model best practices
  • Free‑body diagrams and top‑level analysis
  • Experience with composite space structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to code in one or more languages or toolset APIs to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Experience with automated and non‑automated load trains used in static testing.
