Here's what you can look forward to: As a Financial Business Partner / Controller (m/f/d) , you will act as a key interface between Marketing, Finance, and Risk Management, supporting the financial steering of our international marketing business. Working closely with various business units and regions, you will analyze performance drivers, create transparency around profitability, and contribute to informed business decision-making. In this role, you combine commercial understanding with strong financial expertise and confidently navigate complex reporting structures, different accounting standards, and operational performance management. You will actively contribute to identifying risks at an early stage, further developing governance structures, and strengthening the long-term profitability of the business. Your tasks in a nutshell: Analyze performance: You analyze P&Ls across our marketing activities, evaluating margin developments, variances, and key financial performance drivers. Bridge accounting concepts: You bring a sound understanding of mark-to-market accounting and accrual accounting principles and support the interpretation of commercial and financial data across both perspectives. Support financial close activities: You contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, supporting accruals, adjustments, and reporting activities. Manage risks: You identify financial and operational risks, strengthen control mechanisms, and support both internal and external audits. Advise stakeholders: You work closely with Marketing, Finance, and Risk teams, translating complex financial topics into clear and actionable insights for different stakeholders. You go beyond presenting information by deriving recommendations, acting as a trusted sparring partner, and supporting commercial decision-making through data-driven insights. What helps you to fulfill this role: Education: A completed degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional experience: Several years of experience in Financial Controlling, Product Control, or Commercial Finance - ideally within the energy, commodity, or industrial sector. Technical expertise: Good knowledge of German GAAP and mark-to-market accounting concepts, as well as a general awareness of IFRS. Experience with complex reporting and consolidation structures is an advantage. Industry knowledge: Knowledge of the marketing and downstream value chain within the oil & gas industry is considered an advantage. Systems skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP; PowerPoint skills and knowledge of Power BI or other reporting/visualization tools are a plus. Languages: Excellent written and spoken English skills; German is a plus.
