Sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating price, delivery, technical and quality requirements with new and existing suppliers
Purchasing mechanical and electronic parts
Expediting and tracking orders to ensure timely delivery
Performing data analysis to identify cost savings opportunities
Negotiating with suppliers to reduce costs, receive discounts and achieve most cost-effective mode of transportation
Entering purchase order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
Maintaining updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
Coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage
Other duties as required
What you will bring along
College diploma or University degree is preferred.
SCMP designation, or a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing purchasing environment, considered an asset.
Some experience reading engineering drawings
Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as strong attention to detail
Solid analytical skills, and conduct cost analyses
Strong negotiation skills
Detail orientated
