Position Summary and Qualifications:
The Department of Marketing at Saint Joseph's University has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester. We seek candidates with a demonstrated interest in areas associated with general marketing, digital marketing, sports marketing, entertainment marketing, sales management, advertising, and public relations. Professionals with experience in the above will be given preference.
Saint Joseph's University (SJU) offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's, doctoral, associate, and certificate programs. With a commitment to personalized attention through a low faculty-to-student ratio, SJU may call on the expertise of adjunct instructors to complement the work of full-time faculty across all of its colleges and schools.
SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph's University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an "as needed" basis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide support and guidance to students
Instruct an assigned course, providing syllabi and other instructional materials
Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
Reporting grades as well as cooperating in program assessment
In addition to meeting all scheduled class sessions, adjunct faculty are expected to offer one hour of office hours each week.
