Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
Follows ALARA guideline and uses Universal Precautions in all situations.
Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient and all from excessive radiation.
Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam.
Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms and contacts Radiology RN or appropriate person when necessary.
Prioritizes stat procedures, organize patient flow and keep communication with staff, when working in the Emergency Department.
Maintains proficiency in the use of all Radiology equipment and Performs Radiographic procedures of highest technical quality.
Performs appropriate procedures as ordered and assists Radiologist performing procedure.
Communicates with appropriate service representatives to ensure adequate equipment maintenance.
Addresses all patient, physician, staff, and concerns/complaints within the area immediately. Refers any unresolved concerns/complaints to the Director immediately with all facts and data.
Acts as preceptor for new employees to ensure that initial competencies are met.
Documents procedures in PACS.
Performs Receptionist and Radiology Assistant duties as needed.
Maintains overall cleanliness and safety of the radiology area.
Maintains cleanliness of all Radiology equipment in: Radiology department, Operating Room and Emergency Department.
Notifies leadership when demands for service exceed the ability to provide expected standards of service.
Mediates patient flow issues, add on procedures, overbooking of procedures and patients being bumped to ensure an even flow in your department.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Objective:
Performs a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment; is in the control room and assigns exams to Radiologic Technologists. Triages orders and requests for C-arms in the operating room; decides which fluoroscopy exams, needle-work procedures and general X-rays will be done first and coordinates with transport. Continuously in contact with the staff to monitor needs in the Emergency Room (ER) for timely turnaround of exams.
