Position Summary and Qualifications:
Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an "as needed" basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and also in the evening. Courses available for adjunct staffing may include: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, as well as other specialty accounting courses. More information about the department is available at

With a commitment to personalized attention through a low faculty to student ratio, SJU may call on the expertise of adjunct instructors to complement the work of full-time faculty across all of its colleges and schools.
SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph's University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Use established course content and materials to teach course(s) either on-campus or online (common course syllabi must be adhered to)
Prepare course materials
Participate in Assurance of Learning activities
Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
Provide support and guidance to students.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Cooperating with course coordinators to assure quality and consistency across the program.
Minimum Requirements:
Master's Degree and/or CPA certification with demonstrated teaching or industry experience.
