About the role
Washington State University Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture is hiring an Assistant to the Dean. In this position, you will s erve as the confidential assistant to the Dean. You will participate as a member of the VCEA Dean's Leadership Team, providing input on policy and procedural matters. Your role will manage and oversee daily operations of the Dean's Office, and you will serve as the primary point of contact between the Dean and internal and external constituencies. You will assist the Associate Deans, School Directors, Department Chairs, and other executive-level officials with requests involving sensitive and confidential information while also handling multiple incoming issues and concerns, as they arise, and managing a variety of administrative duties, faculty, and staff support issues. Additional Information: This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime-eligible. Monthly Salary: $4,600 - $ 6,763 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field AND five (5) years of managing administrative support experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with a variety of internal and external constituencies. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including but not limited to Word, Outlook, and OneDrive. Demonstrated ability to problem solve that considers alternatives and provides flexibility. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and events.
