Monitor the safety of pool patrons and enforce pool rules
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as necessary
Maintain a clean and safe pool environment
Complete required training and certification updates as needed
Requirements
Current American Red Cross certification in Lifesaving, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED & First Aid
Successful completion of a skills test including swimming 300 yards, treading water for 2 minutes, completing a timed event, and retrieving a diving brick from the bottom of the pool
Must be at least 16 years old
Physical Requirements:
Work involves physical activity, such as: walking, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.

The Lifeguard position at Bucknell University is a part-time role within the Kenneth Langone Athletics & Recreation Center (KLARC). The primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of pool patrons during the summer and potentially into the academic year. This position is filled on an as-needed basis and is hourly, non-exempt, and not eligible for university benefits.
