Job Description:
E SSENTIAL D UTIES AND R ESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Project Leadership
Lead planning and execution for assigned civil and infrastructure scopes, ensuring alignment with overall project and development timelines.
Support the Director in developing operational strategies, resource plans, and best practices for civil project delivery.
Act as a senior technical resource to project coordinators, superintendents, and consultants.
Establish and uphold standardized processes, documentation, and quality benchmarks across projects.
Design Management & Technical Coordination
Review civil design packages, grading plans, and utility layouts for constructability, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Coordinate and resolve design issues with consultants, municipal authorities, and internal design teams.
Manage RFIs, design revisions, and change directives to ensure clarity and timely resolution.
Oversee deficiency reviews, ensuring corrective actions are issued, tracked, and completed.
Scheduling, Planning & Resource Management
Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules for all civil scopes, including utilities, roads, earthworks, and stormwater systems.
Evaluate critical path activities and proactively apply acceleration or mitigation strategies when required.
Coordinate people power, equipment, and subcontractor resources to optimize efficiency.
Adjust plans based on weather forecasting, site conditions, and municipal constraints.
Financial Management & Contract Administration
Prepare and review budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting for civil components.
Lead tendering, bid evaluations, and contractor award recommendations with clear scope definition and alignment to MMCD standards.
Review sub-contractor draw requests, progress claims, and change orders to ensure accuracy.
Support Letter of Credit (LC) tracking, milestone verification, and the transition to maintenance periods.
Stakeholder & Consultant Coordination
Act as a senior liaison between Onni Contracting, development, consultants, subcontractors, and municipal authorities.
Participate in design, permitting, and coordination meetings to ensure civil approvals and servicing requirements remain on track.
Provide guidance and strategic input during the preconstruction phase, helping determine servicing strategies and cost implications.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Prepare and review monthly progress reports, including schedule, cost, and productivity metrics.
Identify risks and develop mitigation plans in coordination with senior leadership.
Ensure project documentation-including schedules, reports, logs, and correspondence-is complete and properly archived.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Minimum 5 years of Civil and Infrastructure construction related experience
Comprehensive understanding of MMCD standards, municipal permitting processes, geotechnical considerations, and civil design principles.
Direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
Experience overseeing large Heavy Civil and Infrastructure projects considered an asset
Certificate, University degree, or college diploma would be an asset
Project Management education an asset
Salary Range:
$150000-190000
