Job Description AECOM is seeking to hire a highly skilled Plumbing and Fire Suppressions systems engineer at Senior level in the Data Center and Mission Critical team for our Bucharest office. The ideal candidate for this position should be familiar with the tech sector, mission critical and data center industry, understanding the requirements of scale, speed, and consistency in data centers. The openings are in the mechanical design engineering field. Responsibilities, required experience, and qualifications are summarized below: Here is what you will do: Lead the design of chilled water, domestic hot/cold water, drainage, and condensate management systems for Tier III/IV data center facilities. Develop hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pressure zone layouts, and system schematics in compliance with EN, NFPA, and local regulatory standards. Design and specify fire suppression systems including wet/dry pipe sprinkler, pre-action, clean agent (FM-200, Novec 1230), and inert gas systems for IT white space and ancillary areas. Produce and review technical specifications, BOQ, and equipment data sheets for tender and procurement packages. Coordinate BIM/Revit MEP clash detection with structural, HVAC, electrical, and low-voltage disciplines. Ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes, and client standards Ensure compliance of the project with AECOM Quality Procedure. Act as the primary point of contact for client, project manager and other stakeholders regarding all plumbing and fire suppression technical matters. Mentor and develop junior engineers and site supervisors within the MEP team. Contribute to design reviews, value engineering workshops, and technical risk assessments. Prepare and present technical reports and project status updates to senior management and clients.
