The Protection Officer I RMHRC works under the supervision of the RMHRC Supervisor. The officer performs functions to protect facility and personnel from property loss and criminal activity. Provides services and assistance, as outlined by policies and procedures and directed by Management, to make the facility safe for employees, patients and visitors and to meet the expectations of Riverside Health.
Responsibilities
Makes rounds on interior and exterior of the campus to prevent and detect criminal activity. Write traffic warnings and incident reports. Ensure radio equipment, Vocera and PPE is in verification of working order and report deficiencies to Supervisor.
Keep files and SOPs current. Make written reports of incidents or unusual circumstances with which confronted with while on duty, including safety and fire hazards. Provide appropriate and detailed information in reports about incidents or concerns for quality monitoring thru rCare and pass downs.
Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
1 year Prior experience with security in a health care or other setting (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
Ability to prioritize and accomplish assignments with accuracy and timeliness (work assignments completed by deadlines, receive minimal customer complaints)
Ability to respond with flexibility to changes and adapt to varying work assignments
Ability to communicate reliably and accurately with all members of the team
Licenses and Certifications
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 90 Days(Required) and
Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED) - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) If CPR is not BLS certification, AED is also required within 90 Days(Required)
Certified Crisis Prevention (CPI) - The Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Required within 15 days of hire (Required)
