As the Project Accountant you are responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable. You will perform a range of tasks related to purchase orders, subcontractor management and time capture. Working under moderate supervision, the Project Accountant solves routine problems within defined procedures, providing support to various project teams.

Essential Responsibilities:
Processes subcontractor invoices by ensuring invoice packages meet approval requirements; investigates vendor inquiries; distributes cheques and reconciles monthly statements
Reviews Purchase Orders for accuracy and completeness prior to commitment
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between PO quantities, receipts, and invoices
Coordinate with Accounts Payable to facilitate timely vendor payments
Prepares aging Accounts Receivables and facilities follow ups
Coordinates the collection of compliance documentation (such as statutory declarations, WCB clearance letters, certificates of insurance) required from subcontractors for release of payment
Supports accurate time capture by resolving missing or incomplete timesheets and correcting coding errors
Processes job cost adjustments, and prepares journal entries
Performs reconciliations for both AP and AR to ensure project financials are accurate and up to date
Additional ad hoc duties and analysis as required
