Commissioning Engineer (ControlLogix PLC)

Responsibilities

• Commission, test, and support PLC-based automation systems during FAT, SAT, and site commissioning.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain PLC hardware , including I/O modules, control panels, and field instrumentation.
• Develop, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and HMI/SCADA software , including:
• Studio 5000
• FactoryTalk View (SE / ME)
• FactoryTalk Historian
• FactoryTalk AssetCentre
• Integrate PLC systems with third-party devices using Modbus and OPC UA communication protocols.
• Perform system diagnostics, fault analysis, and root cause troubleshooting during commissioning and post go-live support.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, instrumentation, and SCADA teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning reports, test documentation, as-built drawings, and technical manuals .
• Provide on-site and remote technical support for both hardware and software-related issues.
• Required Technical Skills
• Proven hands-on experience with ControlLogix PLC hardware and software , including field devices.
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Studio 5000
• FactoryTalk View (SE / ME)
• FactoryTalk Historian
• FactoryTalk AssetCentre
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and OPC UA .
• Solid background in application maintenance and production support .
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and system integration layers.
• Preferred Skills & Experience
• Advanced expertise in ControlLogix PLC programming and architecture .
• Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, or process industries .
• Exposure to SCADA systems, historians, and industrial networking .
• Prior site commissioning and project-based support experience.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering .
• 3-8 years of relevant experience in PLC software application commissioning and project execution .
