This Opportunity:
Join our team based in Rice Lake, Wisconsin in this year-round opportunity to develop both construction and design skills.
Participate in field activities on projects with varying levels of complexity and construction conditions.
Provide on-site representation for a variety of transportation projects, supporting tasks such as documentation, material testing, survey coordination, and more.
Travel to project sites as needed to complete field responsibilities.
Apply engineering and technical knowledge to support construction-related duties.
Assist with field observations on less complex construction projects to ensure conformance with contract documents.
Maintain daily documentation of certified work and enter quantities into recordkeeping systems or contract administration software.
Communicate regularly with engineers, contractors, landowners, utility companies, and public stakeholders regarding project progress and concerns.
Support monitoring of contractor schedules and construction progress, reporting updates to senior construction staff and project managers.
Assist in developing project punch lists and compiling final documentation in accordance with contract requirements.
Help prepare record drawings and maintain project files and digital records.
Monitor contractor activities on-site under direct supervision.
Handle basic issues independently and escalate more complex matters to senior staff. Possess a foundational to intermediate understanding of construction practices.

Essential Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to obtain required HTCP certifications.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
Ability to calculate project quantities accurately.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
Willingness to learn construction administration software such as AASHTOWare, OneOffice, Bluebeam, or Adobe.
Commitment to SEH's Quality and Safety standards.
