About the role

The Electro Mechanical Designer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of electro mechanical components used in X-ray tubes products (Medical Device). This role involves converting requirements into robust designs for cost-effective components, reverse engineering, localization of components, collaborating with cross functional teams & external supplier and supporting products from concept through production and lifecycle improvements. Responsibilities

  • Electro‑Mechanical Design
  • Design and develop electro‑mechanical components involving mechanical structures, low & high voltage critical components and vacuum compatible parts
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings using GD&T, BOMs in SAP etc.
  • Ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components
  • Review designs and drawings prepared by team members
  • Contribute to design best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Product Development & Engineering
  • Translate product requirements, specifications, and customer needs into practical design solutions
  • Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and component selection
  • Develop fixtures & test setups for assembly of components for in-house manufacturing.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, debugging, and V&V activities
  • Lead design reviews and implement design improvements based on feedback and test results
  • Compliance & Quality
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations (IEC606061, ISO13485, ISO14791, UL, CE, and other country specific regulations for medical devices)
  • Follow DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and reliability best practices with proven skill set for process driven approach & GDP.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, supplier quality, and internal inspection teams to qualify components E2E from supply chain establishment till validation.
  • Support supplier technical discussions and component evaluations while working closely with the procurement team
  • Assist production teams in resolving design‑related issues during manufacturing and assembly
  • Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Basic Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Master's degree is a plus
  • Experience (Preferred)
  • 7-10 years of experience in electro‑mechanical design and product development, preferably in Medical Product Industry (X-ray tube design & development exposure is bonus).
  • Proven experience designing complex assemblies involving both mechanical and electrical components
  • Hands‑on experience supporting products through prototyping and production
  • Proven experience in supplier development and strong manufacturing processes knowledge
  • Experience working in global or multi‑site engineering teams

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in 3D & 2D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar)
  • Experience with sheet metal, machined parts, plastics, and structural assemblies etc.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis
  • Basic knowledge of sensors, motors, drives, power supplies, connectors, and cabling
  • CAD/PLM tools and BOM management
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical skills, good communication, stakeholder management & documentation abilities are must
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently and lead technical discussion
  • Travel Preferences
