Weber Shandwick is seeking a curious, proactive and collaborative Associate to support an exciting mix of clients in the financial services sector and bring their business objectives to life through creative earned, owned, and paid programs. This role sits in our NY Advisory team, which means you will work closely with capability specialists across our core advisory pillars-Corporate Strategy & Reputation, Transactions & Transformations, Public Affairs & Impact, and Crisis & Issues-to help our financial services clients communicate their value, manage reputational risk, and navigate regulatory and market shifts.
Responsibilities
- Liaises with clients and assists in day-to-day communications and account management, including organizing client meetings, drafting agendas/recaps for meetings, developing timelines, activity reports, and other key client documentation.
- Supports campaign and program development by conducting relevant research and contributing creative ideas in planning meetings and team brainstorms.
- Supports and executes key media relations deliverables, including media list creation, pitch development, press releases, reporting, and content creation.
- Tracks and monitors the media landscape/trends to spot opportunities for proactive storytelling.
- Identifies, builds, and maintains relationships with key media and influencers in the financial services industry.
- Continually builds understanding and knowledge of clients' business, competitive landscape, and industry trends to provide thoughtful recommendations.
- Leverages proprietary AI platforms to continuously analyze and assess the evolving client landscape to support client deliverables and anticipate future needs.
- Monitors, analyzes, and develops client coverage reports, leveraging industry measurement and listening tools to identify opportunities for growth and strategic evolution.
- Partners with diverse, cross-functional teams across Weber Advisory capabilities including corporate reputation, public affairs, digital, crisis and analytics to deliver integrated solutions and ensure strong execution of programs in support of client business objectives.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1-2 years related professional experience in public relations, communications, or a related field (agency or in-house).
- Experience interning or working with corporate leaders, and professional or financial services companies is a plus.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and interest in the financial services industry. Keen interest in following policy, media, and macroeconomic trends.
- A strong writer capable of crafting compelling press releases, pitches, social posts, bylines for various audiences.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with strong project coordination skill
