Schedule is Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm Position may require occasional floating to other NCH Primary Care clinics based on staffing needs. Job Description Summary: Assists with the provision of quality patient care and performs required administrative tasks. Job Description: Essential Functions: May prepare correspondence, documents, reports and other materials of varying complexity and confidentiality, sometimes requiring independent judgment. Schedules patient appointments and provides follow-up and reminder calls. Assists with various clinical tasks that include rooming of patients, vital signs, heights and weights, and any applicable screening questions. Provides basic, supportive patient care and administers approved medications under the delegation of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Collects and reports data to a licensed professional, including any abnormalities, and documents all findings in the medical record. May act as a preceptor for orientation and training of new staff, float staff and students as directed. Education Requirement: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or five years of equivalent experience, required. Licensure Requirement: Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children's Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Certifications: CPR certified (American Heart Association Heart saver with pediatric content) course, or Health Care Provider course or Red Cross equivalent, required.
