Advertised Position Title: Applicant Pool for Non-Credit Instructor, American Heart Association BLS Job Description: Instruct AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) courses to pre professionals, professionals and lay persons in accordance with AHA guidelines in an energetic and understandable manner to a wide audience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: American Heart Association certified BLS PROVIDER and INSTRUCTOR. 1-3 years prior experience as a PROVIDER is preferred. Basic knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Energetic attitude. Good organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Basic knowledge of computer and Audio/Visual systems preferred. Be physically able to perform CPR on a mannequin. Be able to lift, move, bend, kneel, carry within reason. Energetic attitude. Essential Functions: Instruct AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) courses to pre professionals, professionals and lay persons in accordance with AHA guidelines in an energetic and understandable manner to a wide audience. Answer basic questions regarding Anatomy and Physiology of the cardiac system. Maintain equipment and use A/V materials. Successfully run 2 BLS CPR classes on campus while being monitored by a senior instructor. Other Characteristics: NA Minimum Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) American Heart Association certified BLS PROVIDER and INSTRUCTOR. 1-3 years prior experience as a PROVIDER is preferred.
