Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant II provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine patient care to assist nursing personnel in treatment, comfort, and safety. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide hands-on care to postpartum mothers and newborns - Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, hygiene) - Take and record vital signs accurately - Perform blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, venipuncture, and specimen collection as delegated - Support ambulation, transfers, and postpartum recovery needs - Respond promptly to patient/family needs and call lights - Maintain patient safety, dignity, and privacy - Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care - Participate in unit tasks including restocking supplies, linen management, and basic clerical duties
