Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and innovative systems engineer to join our team in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in requirements development, software development, and website development, along with experience using Jira, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI, ServiceNow, and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Strong communication and technical writing skills are essential for success in this role.
As a Systems Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
Develop, analyze, and manage system and software requirements to ensure project success.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system capabilities and architecture.
Support software development efforts, ensuring alignment with requirements and customer needs.
Utilize JIRA for tracking and managing tasks, user stories, and development workflows.
Maintain and manage project documentation and collaboration tools in SharePoint.
Apply Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies to ensure efficient and agile project execution.
Develop and execute test cases to validate system functionality and performance.
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint to create technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to convey complex concepts.
Provide technical writing support for documentation, reports, and presentations.
Analyze system and project data, identifying insights and improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship
BS degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
Five years applicable systems engineering experience.
Active Secret clearance is required.
Hands-on experience with requirements development and test case development.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work in an agile development environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project).
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to experiment with AI-driven development.
Experience in user interface design and process workflow design.
Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
