The Coffeebar Manager is responsible for the coffeebar's overall financial performance and operational success. Post Office Square Coffeebar 225 Franklin St., Boston, MA, 02110 Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm Saturday & Sunday, Closed Duties & Responsibilities Budget and Operations: Recruit, hire, and supervise qualified personnel when positions become available. Prepare, monitor and manage the coffeebar's staffing levels and schedule; identify opportunities to increase efficiency without sacrificing operations. Maintain accurate records and paperwork including daily sales results, monthly inventory, cash drawer reconciliation, personnel records and employment documentation. Participate in the development of the coffeebar's annual budget, and identify quarterly goals and objectives. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and attractiveness of the coffeebar's interior and exterior. Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure response time and deliveries are timely; track vendor activity, particularly those responding to and completing work order requests. Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate appropriate responsibilities and practices to staff to achieve operational goals. Continuously review the coffeebar's operations to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Review monthly financial reports with your supervisor to identify and address trends and issues in coffeebar performance. Suggest and implement new initiatives in pursuit of increasing quality and profitability, streamlining labor/systems, and increasing morale. Training/Education: Work with coffeebar staff - on an individual and group basis - to ensure that staff are confident in their drink preparation skills, throughout the year. Ensure training stays on track and forward movement is maintained until full capability is achieved. Collaborate with Retail Director to ensure that the coffeebar's regular schedule and the training schedule are effectively written to allow for an adequate volume of training. Collaborate with Retail Director to identify future leaders at Intelligentsia within the coffeebar. Encourage and support them in their training needs to achieve their goals. Cash Handling: Adhere to all policies included in the Retail Training Manual and ensure that staff understand and adhere to the policies. Ensure that each new employee completes the Cash Handling Policies and Procedures test within 30 days of employment. Maintain current and accurate records by performing daily and weekly payroll and labor responsibilities, reviewing and maintaining all timekeeping records, and ensure that company communications are appropriately shared with staff. Culture/Hospitality: Maintain a strong floor presence, cultivate an attentive and detail-oriented staff, and ensure a high level of customer service without sacrificing the quality of the coffee and tea beverages and products being offered. Demonstrate a calm demeanor during peak periods, and set a positive example for staff. Hold meetings for all staff at least quarterly and maintain a strong and open line of communication. Assess staff performance on a consistent and ongoing basis; coach each employee, providing positive reinforcement and constructive feedback. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience managing retail, restaurant, or hospitality locations strongly preferred. Drive-thru management experience is strongly preferred.
