Key Competencies Industry Background: 7-10 years total engineering experience with at least 2 years in a people-management or tech-lead role. Prior experience in online gaming, RMG, or casual gaming platforms is strongly preferred. Social casino experience is not required. Team Building & Scaling: Proven ability to hire, onboard, and ramp engineering teams from scratch (4-5 engineers across FE, BE, and payments). Experience conducting technical interviews, defining leveling frameworks, and building team culture in a fast-growing startup environment. Technical Depth - Web Stack: Hands-on experience with React/Next.js frontend and Node.js backend architectures. Ability to make sound technical decisions on system design, API contracts, database schema, and infrastructure trade-offs (e.g., monolith vs microservices for an early-stage platform). Delivery & Execution: Track record of shipping product features on time in agile environments. Comfortable owning sprint planning, capacity allocation, technical debt management, and release processes. Can balance speed-to-market with code quality. Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience partnering with Product, Design, LiveOps, Analytics, and Fraud/Risk teams to translate roadmap priorities into engineering plans. Ability to push back on scope, negotiate timelines, and communicate technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
