Responsibilities

  • Investigate & audit: Conduct deep dive investigations into emerging trends in misuse and fraudulent behavior to find patterns that we are currently missing with our detection.
  • Query data: Use SQL to navigate our databases (like Google BigQuery), pull the information you need to support your investigations. Build rules or mitigations based on your analysis to prevent fraudulent behavior across our platform.
  • Validate Defenses: Perform audits and validations on our existing fraud detection engines and rules to ensure they are accurate and that false positives are kept to a minimum.
  • Enhance processes: Design and craft detection prompts, validate business detection performance, and support the development and testing of cutting-edge technologies incorporating AI and automation.
  • Cross-collaboration: Work with data science and engineering teams to improve internal tools and enhance the technological and procedural methods we use to detect and prevent fraudulent activity at scale.
  • Advocacy: Take ownership of projects within Fraud, particularly in the area of Business Detection and Operational Excellence. Serve as a sounding board and sparring partner for other teams across the business and educate people on the work we do.
  • Team support: Assist the Fraud team in developing, identifying, creating, and maintaining policies and procedures that impact Business Detection operations.

Requirements

  • +2 years of experience in conducting investigations and developing and implementing detection strategies and solutions.
  • Proven track record in identifying and analyzing fraudulent behavior.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to implement and drive projects from start to finish.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset paired with solid business acumen.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with a self-starting and enthusiastic approach.
  • Skilled at understanding complex problems and identifying effective solutions.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a forward-thinking, strategic mindset.
