About the role

Nuveen is seeking an experienced Head Application Development leads the information technology (IT) team in the analysis, programming, and development of applications and/or systems software. This job interacts with executive leadership and others concerning matters of significance to the organization and makes decisions that have a considerable impact on the overall success or failure of their area of accountability. This job owns short to mid-term strategy execution and operational direction in alignment with organization objectives. Key Responsibilities and Duties Oversees the execution of the development and implementation of information technology (IT) applications and applications systems analysis and programming activities that enable the organization's business processes. Consults with leadership in determining and developing IT application strategies and effective integration of these strategies to meet organization-wide business needs. Represents the organization when selecting IT hardware and software vendors to ensure organization IT needs are met according to cost, performance, delivery, quality, and service standards. Ensures organization-wide IT quality assurance and audits to ensure compliance with defined standards. Directs, motivates, develops and manages the performance of the IT Applications management team and key staff. Manages, coaches, directs and assesses performance and coordinates with direct reports to ensure and facilitate execution of the business's application development strategies and objectives and to foster team member engagement, motivation and development. Drive issue identification, triage, and remediation across operational and investment data flows. Required Skills : 5+ years of experience in asset management or related investment banking experience. 3+ years of experience in cloud base data management and application development Strong exposure to Buy-Side Asset Management, Investment Operations, security master data, pricing, reference data, and portfolio data flows. Proven experience leading data teams in a global matrix environment. Knowledge of SQL Preferred Skills : Exposure to fixed income investment portfolio management - analytics and performance (beneficial but not required) Experience with Snowflake or cloud-based data platforms. Familiarity with data lineage automation tools and governance workflow engines.
