Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Knowledge of city of Denver streets/alleys and use of maps
Have a valid Driver's License
Willingness to work in inclement weather, road environments, dust, fumes, etc.
Desire to follow a career path and promote to other positions within the department, such as Equipment Operator I, Equipment Operator II, etc. (We provide on the job training!)
Applicants for commercial driving positions must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. Commercial drivers must be able to do the following in English:
Converse with the general public
Understand highway traffic signs and signals
Respond to official inquiries
Make entries on reports and records
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement: None
Experience Requirement: One (1) year of experience performing unskilled labor work.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement
License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
Requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL "B") with appropriate endorsements within six (6) months of employment and must be kept current as a condition of employment.

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. Although the full pay range is posted, the target hiring range is $22.53-$25.50/ hr.
