About the role
Provides direct supervision over those preparing, distributing, and serving food to inpatients and cafeteria customers. Oversees the cleaning of kitchen utensils/equipment and area sanitation. Job Duties Investigates all unusual situations and activities and reports all equipment malfunctions to proper person. Maintains strict security procedures to protect hospital supplies and equipment; reports missing items, suspected food theft, etc. Maintains supply of menus, production sheets, office supplies and patient diet communication systems / uses EPIC as applicable. Prepares requisitions for items needed from Materiel Management. Provides information and otherwise participates in disciplinary actions and commendations. Provides suggestions to improve work methods or procedures. Participates in Quality Improvement Process. Assists in establishing or updating departmental protocols and policies. Completes annual educational requirements to improve competencies, including those focused on age-specific criteria. Provides ongoing feedback regarding performance to those supervised, as appropriate. Recommends the purchase and replacement of kitchen equipment, supplies and materials, food preparation, and cleaning hardware.
