Position Summary and Qualifications:
All adjunct professors must be familiar with program goals and be able to demonstrate the ability to develop an organized plan of instruction and evaluation. They must be responsible for providing instruction, evaluation of students, documentation of progress, and periodic review of course content.
Saint Joseph's University (SJU) offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's, doctoral, associate and certificate programs. With a commitment to personalized attention through a low faculty to student ratio, SJU may call on the expertise of adjunct instructors to complement the work of full-time faculty across all of its colleges and schools.
SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph's University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support and guidance to students
Instruct an assigned course providing syllabi and other instructional materials
Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
Provide instruction, evaluate students, document student progress, and periodically review course content.
Assist in student laboratory exercises offered at SJU-Lancaster.
Visit students at assigned clinical sites on a frequency defined by the program director.
Minimum Requirements:
Possess appropriate credential(s) for the learning concentration of the instruction provided such as RDCS, RCS, RDMS (OB/GYN and Abdomen), and/or RVT
Education qualifications vary depending on the specific course and programmatic accreditation.
