Process Safety Advisor

Requirements

• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), including architecture, application programs, operation, and maintenance.
• Experience defining and assigning Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) for Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF).
• Advanced understanding of process control, instrumentation, and automation as enablers of Process Safety.
• Experience in well performance optimization and control in extra-heavy oil (EHCO) systems, including artificial lift and surface integration.
• Knowledge of production control strategies, including pressure management, flow assurance, and optimization from wells to facilities.
• Familiarity with integrated production systems, including real-time monitoring, control, and optimization platforms.
• International assignments will not be considered

Chevron Venezuela is accepting online applications for the position Process Safety Advisor in El Tigre, Venezuela Provide technical leadership and assurance for the implementation and execution of Integrated Risk System (IRS) elements, embedding a strong Process Safety culture in daily operations across Petropiar South Zone production facilities. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Ensure critical safeguards are in place, visible, and functioning as intended; manage safeguard bypasses and drive their timely elimination in coordination with Operations and Maintenance. Support and sustain the implementation of key Process Safety elements (MOC, PSSR, Operational Procedures, Mechanical Integrity) across PP South Zone facilities. Drive execution of the annual Process Safety plan, ensuring alignment and compliance in both existing and modified assets. Provide technical guidance to field operations to identify, assess, and mitigate process risks. Perform targeted assurance activities, including verification of safeguards, PSV status, MOC quality, and field performance of protection systems. Act as a trusted Process Safety advisor, promoting consistent application of standards and continuous improvement across disciplines.
