As a Hardware Development Engineer within the (RDPI) team, you will design, develop, and deliver mechanical components and systems for Amazon's next generation of products. You will work with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into manufacturable designs that meet customer needs and business requirements. Key job responsibilities - Deliver mechanical design projects from concept through production, ensuring designs meet functional requirements, cost targets, and manufacturing constraints - Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and assemblies - Conduct engineering analyses including tolerance stack-ups, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical designs against product requirements - Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing partners to integrate mechanical designs with other subsystems. - Identify and resolve technical issues during development and production phases - Document design decisions, test results, and engineering changes - Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes
