a) Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or have completed a Honours Degree in Geography or equivalent*. If
vacancies remain, students enrolled in an Honours Program (completed 13 or more credits) in Geography or equivalent* will be considered.
b) Completion of 4 full credits in Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher in all Geography courses completed is required (or
equivalent*}.
c) Completion of the course for which the applicant wishes to be a teaching assistant with a final grade of 75% or higher In that course (or
equivalent*).
d) Demonstrated successful undergraduate teaching experience or equivalent small group leadership in an undergraduate context.
e) Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
f) Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines.
*Equivalency will be determined by the course instructor. Applicant must make a case that their qualifications are equivalent to those
required above

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ 23.30 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ 36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 202 6 )In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant's duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.Flexible schedule
