Master's degree and/or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field.
5+ years of industry experience in a high-tech engineering environment.
Strong understanding of silicon photonics, semiconductor physics, optical component design, fabrication, and test ing.
Strong background in optical communications or high-frequency electrical/electro-optical characterization (>40 GHz).
Hands-on experience in photonic device characterization and testing in a development environment; high-speed testing background preferred.
Experience with advanced packaging or 2.5D/3D integration in optical platforms is a plus.
In-depth experience and expertise in:
Photonic electromagnetic field simulations ( Lumerical preferred) .
RF PCB design and RF electromagnetic field simulation (HFSS preferred).
Code-based mask layout design for photonic ICs (Synops y s preferred), including experience with external PDKs, libraries, and DRC . Design and tape-out experience with multiple foundries is a plus.

What You Can Expect
Simulate and design active and passive photonic integrated components , circuits and high- bandwidth photonic systems
Translate device operational specifications into mask layouts
Drive tape-out activities including layout verification, DR C , and documentation
Contribute to software development and maintenance for simulation and mask layout tools, including PDK
Testing and characterization of resulting components, qualification of components/integrated circuits
Analyze and interpret measurement data, comparing experimental results with simulations to optimize device performance .
