Provide targeted remediation support to students and graduates requiring additional reinforcement in FAA A&P subject areas
Support individuals identified through practice testing results, instructional referral, or demonstrated performance concerns
Reinforce technical concepts through tutoring, guided review, repetition, and hands-on coaching
Assist participants in building confidence, preparedness, and consistency ahead of certification testing
Hands-On Technical Reinforcement
Reinforce proper procedures, tool usage, and FAA-aligned practices in a hangar-based training environment
Support practical skill development through guided exercises and technical repetition
Bridge classroom theory with practical application and real-world execution
Promote safe work habits and adherence to technical standards
Collaboration with Instructional Teams
Partner with instructors and campus leadership to identify remediation priorities and participant needs
Provide feedback regarding recurring skill gaps or areas requiring additional reinforcement
Support implementation of certification readiness initiatives and intervention strategies
Student Engagement & Accountability
Encourage consistent participation, preparation, and follow-through
Help maintain a structured and supportive learning environment
Promote professional behaviors aligned with aviation industry expectations
Hangar & Equipment Support
Assist with setup and organization of tools, equipment, and instructional areas
Maintain safe, clean, and organized workspaces
Support instructional demonstrations and hands-on exercises as needed
General Support
Attend required training and development sessions
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Campus Director
Requirements
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Student or graduate of an Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program required
Strong technical aptitude and hands-on aviation maintenance skills required
Prior tutoring, mentoring, instructional support, or coaching experience preferred
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts in both classroom and hands-on environments
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must have passed the General Written, Airframe, or Powerplant exam depending on the area of remediation support
Candidates actively pursuing FAA certification are encouraged to apply

Aviation Maintenance Remediation Teaching Assistant
POSITION PURPOSE
The Aviation Maintenance Remediation Teaching Assistant (TA) supports certification readiness initiatives by providing targeted academic and hands-on remediation support to students and graduates preparing for FAA A&P certification exams.
This role focuses on reinforcing technical comprehension, improving practical application, and supporting individuals identified as at-risk based on practice testing performance, instructional feedback, or demonstrated skill gaps.
Working in coordination with instructors and campus leadership, the TA helps strengthen certification preparedness, reinforce technical standards, and contribute to improved certification outcomes across the institution.
