Job Details: Job Summary: Performs a variety of tasks depending on current operational needs in support of the Cubic Weapon Effects Simulation System and additional Cubic programs, projects, Research/Development, and innovation. These tasks include but are not limited to: in depth troubleshooting and first line repair or replacement of all Cubic supported equipment in the field, triage of damaged equipment, in depth expert repair and preventative maintenance in a workshop environment, Subject matter expert on Cubic supported equipment, follow workshop procedures, facilitate and maintain on-site database of inventory, repair recording and schedules. Use/understanding of technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and handbooks. Ability to act as team lead if required. Ability to develop and deliver solutions to complex repairs. Assist in the build, support and maintenance of Cubic Live Fire Ranges. Assist in warehouse duties: Issuing, receiving and operational instruction on Cubic supported equipment. Assisting/supporting in the deployment of Telecommunications Infrastructure, RF, Microwave and Network cabling in remote environments. Workshop Repair Perform in depth, routine preventative, and corrective maintenance on assigned electronic/mechanical equipment. Read and interpret schematic diagrams, assembly drawings and parts lists, established test instructions/procedures and customer specifications to determine test equipment required. Set up and operate routine electronic test equipment to perform functional, operational and environment tests to evaluate performance of components, subassemblies, and assemblies. In depth analysis and interpretation of test data to determine if within appropriate specifications. In depth diagnostic, location and troubleshooting of faulty equipment. Load/install software upgrades to relevant supported hardware. Maintain files and records to document support and repair and meet KPI criteria. (LMIS database) Performs complex tasks; disassemble and assemble supported hardware, replacing components and wiring circuits, repairing electronic equipment, and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators and bespoke Test fixtures. Ability to Solder, crimp and terminate cables and components to industry standard. Warehouse duties Provide a service to customers during issue and receipt of Cubic equipment, including preparation of equipment for issue. Operate and update the warehouse Logistical (LMIS) database. Assist in performing day to day duties within the warehouse. Provide a point of contact to the customer. Deploy into the field to troubleshoot Cubic equipment and support the customer where required Instruct on the TES Assistant Instructors Cadre and other TES related instructional periods Support Deployment of Cubic equipment, (Targetry, IED simulation and Building trackers/cameras) Other In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them. Attend and complete inhouse and external training when required. Weekend work and out of normal hours (08:30 - 16:30) on a requirement basis Maybe required to deploy (overseas or other locations) in support of training outside of core work location. Minimum Job Requirements: Skills knowledge and experience: Essential: Solder to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Standard Crimp and terminate cables and components to industry standard. ESD trained/maintain standard. IT skills using Microsoft Office and testing software such as Hyper Terminal Be able to operate complex electronic test equipment Be able to operate communication radio systems and use basic radio voice procedure Be able to set up and use satellite communication system (OTJ trained) Read and interpret complex drawings (Schematics, Parts list, Assembly drawings and procedures) Basic understanding/qualification of Health and Safety in the workplace Desirable: Previous experience working in a repair workshop environment Knowledge/experience in troubleshooting/fault diagnosis.
