Description of Work This Correction Enterprise Supervisor III (CES III) position is located at the Correction Enterprise Print Plant in Nash, NC. The primary purpose of this position is to supervise and train offender workers in the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of a variety of equipment. The applicant must have the technical and mechanical knowledge to operate, troubleshoot and train on a variety of production equipment used in a commercial printing environment. This position requires certification through Criminal Justice Standards and will be responsible for offender security in addition to their supervisory duties. Offender security includes: - Perform searches of offenders, objects, personal property, buildings and outdoor areas, and places capable of concealing contraband - Engage in duties associated with escaped or fleeing offenders - Conduct offender counts multiple times per shift - Administer first aid and emergency procedures - Utilize unarmed self-defense tactics, batons and emergency equipment - Utilize firearms and proper restraint methods and techniques - Counsel and work with offenders in a variety of assignments and custody levels - Make quick, effective and reasonable decisions in emergencies and take the appropriate action Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $41,655 - $72,897 Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences The Knowledge Skills and Abilities/ Management Preferences are not required. Experience in Bindery and Prepress are a plus. Documented experience in management of skilled workers and training of unskilled workers. Knowledge of various industry safety programs. The applicant must be able to demonstrate knowledge of offset, digital, and/or letterpress presses.
