Current projects include oil & natural gas, CO2, hydrogen, and RNG pipelines and facilities. As a Designer at Atwell, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing design efforts with a clear understanding of the project scope, schedule, key deliverables, milestones, and budgeted hours. You'll ensure all work aligns with Atwell's quality standards, industry codes, and client expectations while guiding the design process from concept to completion. This role involves generating 3D equipment modeling and piping systems, creating detailed isometric drawings, and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to meet technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers and fellow designers to develop construction drawings and plan sets using computer-aided design software (primarily CADWorx; experience with Plant3D and Inventor is a plus)
  • Support project execution by preparing detailed design documents such as P&IDs, piping layouts, piping sections, isometrics, and bills of materials
  • Work closely with design leads and engineers to optimize CAD workflows, recommend best practices, and troubleshoot design software-related issues
  • Execute quality control reviews (redlines) of construction documents, ensuring adherence to project and company CAD standards
  • Interpret and organize engineering data to create clear and accurate design drawings, reports, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate piping design activities with other disciplines to ensure alignment across all project components
  • Participate in internal design reviews as well as client-facing design presentations and discussions
  • Experience with piping drawing verification both in-office and in the field is considered a strong asset
  • Produce multidiscipline drawings supporting process, mechanical, piping, and E&I scopes, while taking direction from engineering leads and discipline-specific teams
  • Pay Range - $30.00 - $60.00 base + end of year bonus.

Requirements

  • Five (5) to Fifteen (15) years of relevant industry experience
  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent education in a related field; or a comparable combination of training and experience
  • Proficient in 3D piping design software such as AutoCAD, CADWorx, MicroStation, and/or Inventor; capable of working across multiple 3D CAD platforms
  • Capable of performing effectively under tight deadlines and fast-paced project demands
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
