Hiring Wage Range:
$24 - $27/hour
Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.
PURPOSE:
Under limited supervision, responsible for the efficient operation of the Fleet Operations Center Parts Room, and shop truck. Support Fleet Operations with repair parts, materials, and clerical record keeping. Maintain active inventory of common items.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Receive, interpret and identify written or verbal requests for parts, tools and other items.
Source, locate, store and issue parts, tools and related items, securing quality products at the lowest reasonable cost and in a timely manner.
Record receipts, disbursements and balances on hand for parts, materials and supplies to maintain proper accountability, and learn and apply the accounting system for accurate cost tracking.
Prepare orders, contact vendors and enter, expedite and follow up on orders as needed. Receive and process shipments, verify completeness and resolve damage or shortage claims with vendors or carriers.
Maintain accurate and economical inventory of stock items. Utilize existing suppliers/ vendors to procure parts.
Comply with Department of Transportation and Dairyland Power Cooperative requirements.
Communicate effectively with mechanics, department supervisors and others to confirm parts and tool needs and order correct items.
Perform general office, record keeping and data entry functions for the Fleet Operations Center, and work collaboratively with others while handling detailed and sometimes complex situations accurately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
NATURE AND EXTENT OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for approximately $300,000+ value of spare parts, supplies, tools and material of the Fleet Operations Department. Evaluate quotes and prices of repair parts and other items. May authorize purchases up to $1,000.
