As a Concept Design Engineer Electrical- & Automation Systems (E&A), you are the architect of the electrical and automation systems for our complex naval ships. Your work is crucial, starting during the proposal process (pre-contract stage). You establish and manage the conceptual design frameworks. You will also lead product development and innovation projects focused on Manning & Automation and Electrical systems, working closely with the Product Manager and the Proposal Engineer. You write clear reports and specifications and serve as the technical link between internal colleagues, external stakeholders, and the customer. Key accountabilities In this role, your responsibilities will include: Design Innovation: You deliver high-quality designs, including Electric System Architecture, Electric Load Balance, Electromagnetic Control Measures, Integrated Ship Management Systems Layout, subsystem evaluations & selections, and the development of innovative concepts. Proposal Management: You draft clear technical specifications and reports, prepare presentations, perform relevant cost calculations and risk assessments, and outline management plans and schedules. Collaboration & Coordination: You effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize results within the proposal. Driving Innovation: You actively contribute to innovation projects, seminars, and working groups to maintain our technical edge. Department Development: You contribute to the further development of the P&P department and ensure all HSEQ policies and procedures are followed to guarantee a safe and healthy work environment.
