Additional Information

Swarmia was founded to help engineering organizations ship exceptional software at a sustainable pace. As Swarmia engineers, we're not only building a platform for our customers but also ourselves. We raised €10M in Series A funding in June 2025 and are growing fast. To help scale and expand the product, we're looking for several Senior Software Engineers who are both generalists and specialists: you know a little about everything and a lot about something. About Swarmia Swarmia is a SaaS product that gives engineering organizations the visibility they need to ship faster without compromising culture or quality. Our customers include some of the world's best software companies, such as Miro, Webflow, Superhuman, and Lovable. We're a team of experienced engineers who care deeply about our craft. We practice what we preach: we use Swarmia to build Swarmia , and we've figured out how to ship fast while keeping technical debt low and our work-life balance healthy. About the role and how we work You will be the first person at Swarmia fully dedicated to infrastructure and security. Until now, this work has been distributed across our Head of Engineering and our platform team. We have reached 99.9% uptime every year since founding, built on Google Cloud and managed with Terraform - and we want to keep it that way as we scale. This is a high-ownership role. You will report directly to our Head of Engineering and work closely with Platform Team, and other product development teams. You will not only maintain what we have - you will improve it systematically, drive down costs, and raise our security posture. We use AI-assisted development actively across the engineering team. We expect this to lower the bar for contributing code alongside infrastructure work, and we will support you in developing that skill from day one. Examples of things you'll do Own our Google Cloud infrastructure: GKE clusters, Cloud SQL, PubSub, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and the services that run on top of them Lead our logging infrastructure rebuild - moving from a high-cost, high-convenience setup toward a tiered architecture that balances cost and debuggability Drive infra cost optimization as an ongoing owned responsibility, not a one-time project Manage and improve our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and deployment automation Own our observability stack: Prometheus, Grafana, alerting, SLOs Review our security posture in Google Security Command Center, implement improvements, and own our response to security audits and customer security reviews Configure and maintain IAM, GCP Secret Manager, VPC firewall rules, Kubernetes network policies, and namespace isolation across our private GKE cluster Design and practice disaster recovery procedures Automate away operational toil - if something happens more than twice, it should not happen manually a third time Write documentation and playbooks; we prefer collaborative problem-solving over working in silos
