Office Management and Administrative Support (30%)
Serve as primary point of contact for department inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
Manage department front desk operations and visitor reception, such as answering phones, responding to emails, sending/providing prospective student information, and greeting visitors
Coordinate facilities access and use authorization
Maintain office supplies and equipment
Manage department calendar, and classroom and meeting room reservations
Handle departmental correspondence and communications
Troubleshooting minor computer issues and serving as assistant liaison with IT to resolve issues
Event and Marketing Management (30%)
Coordinates with the Department Operations Manager and Cybersecurity Program Manager to support events and marketing across all degree and certificate programs and multiple student groups
Assisting with scheduling departmental meetings, vendor and visitor visits, executive briefings, cross-collaborations with other academic and administrative departments, and stakeholders and constituents as needed
Plan and coordinate department events including, but not limited to, career fairs, open house, convocation, K-12 visits, and special programs
Work with department chair and faculty to promote the department via website, social media, and marketing materials
Serve as the department webmaster for social media and websites and provide updates and important information to the department
Collaborate with graphic designers to design and edit department information packets, brochures, and promotional materials
Manage event logistics including venue setup, catering, attendance tracking, and post event surveys
Create and maintain alumni database
Assist in email campaigns, texting, or automated/schedule messages for prospective students, parents, counselors, and other audiences

About the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology
The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology offers three different degree programs, which include a BS in Criminal Justice and Criminology, BS in Cybersecurity, and MS in Cybersecurity. Our programs seek to prepare professionals who are critically educated, socially intelligent, ethically aware, and culturally sensitive. Our diverse team consists of 12 full-time faculty with various professional and research backgrounds, two dedicated and talented staff members, and a group of part-time affiliate faculty with a depth of industry experience. Faculty and staff in the department lead and serve students with humanity, equity, and inclusivity.
Position Summary
The Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology (CJC) at MSU Denver is seeking an Office Manager and Events Coordinator. The Office Manager and Events Coordinator reports to the CJC department chair to provide comprehensive administrative support, event coordination, and student employment management for the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, serving as the primary point of contact for department operations and communications. This position works with the Department Operations Manager and Cybersecurity Program Manager to ensure efficient and integrated departmental procedures that serves a BS in Criminal Justice and Criminology, BS in Cybersecurity, MS in Cybersecurity, and Cybersecurity Graduate Certificates.
