Required Qualifications 2 Years Practicing as an acupuncturist.
Experience working with an interdisciplinary team across eastern medicine with holistic approaches.
Experience working with senior population.
Experience with use of aromatherapy in practice.
AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
California Acupuncturist License - Department of Consumer Affairs Acupuncture Board -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
3 Years Practicing as an acupuncturist.
NCCAOM Certification in Acupuncture - National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine -PREFERRED
Essential Functions
Documentation
Completes all required documentation within the same business day of the client visit. All written communication must be legible and concise and entered into the medical record.
Professional development
Participates in self-directed, professional continuing education to enhance clinical performance by updating theoretical knowledge, technique skills and clinical application. 50 CEU's every 2 years starting Jan. 2007
Quality monitoring
Performs assessment of client status and formulates a treatment care plan in accordance with the client's goals and traditional oriental medicine/acupuncture practice standards. Ensures assessments reflect synthesis or gathered data into an appropriate plan of care
Treatment
Appropriate methods include:
Inserting acupuncture needles, moxibustion, cupping, electro-acupuncture, acupressure massage, breathing techniques, exercise and recommending drugless substances and herbs as dietary supplements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skills related to acute and chronic injury, and diagnoses related to aging required.
