Medical office experience and medical terminology training.

Experience working in a clinical, ambulatory, hospital, long-term care, or other healthcare setting.
Job Specific Duties
Prepares rooms, equipment, and supplies as indicated by examination requirements and patient needs.
Receives and prepares patients for examination and treatment according to practice procedures and protocols.
Obtains and records patient histories, vital signs, and laboratory specimens. Accurately documents patient information in the medical record according to policy and procedure.
Assists physicians and advanced practice clinicians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
Assists with scheduling, patient registration, referrals, prior authorizations, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Collects patient information from incoming calls and patient portal messages and routes information appropriately.
Cleans and disinfects equipment according to departmental policies and procedures.
Attends required meetings, training sessions, and educational activities.
May perform scribe duties upon successful completion of approved training and competency validation.
Promotes excellence through high standards of patient care, professionalism, and service.
