Graduation from a standard senior high school, or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and three (3) years of experience in the areas of building inspections, building construction, real estate sales or a related field.

The Suffolk County Department of Social Services is seeking a Social Service Housing Advisor.
Key Elements Of The Role :
Assists in developing permanent housing and various types of emergency shelters and inspects such housing for health and safety compliance;
Supervises Community Service Workers involved in emergency shelter/motel relocation programs;
Confers with property owners on correction of housing violations;
Attends meetings as necessary;
Maintains files of area housing resources;
Inspects rentals for compliance with health and safety requirements for security.
