Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for component lifecycle status including identification and tracking of obsolescence, at risk, or end-of-life (EOL) parts, part change notification (PCN) and compliance (RoHS, REACH, POP, Prop 65, CE, UL, etc...)
Interface with internal teams, contract manufacturers, component databases, component manufacturers, and distributors for obsolescence data to support BOM Health Analysis.
Drive awareness through collaboration, communication, and hosting periodic meetings with sustaining and NPD teams on BOM health of BD APM's electronics product portfolio.
Assess initial intake of part change notification (PCN) for impact assessment and drive appropriate actions to stakeholders.
Perform technical component evaluation, propose alternate component selection and qualification strategy to make sure that they meet design requirements/specifications and support manufacturing.
Support sustaining R&D engineers with qualification efforts (benchtop testing, EMC chamber, etc...) and documentation reports.
Explore component cost down opportunities working with category managers and sustaining R&D.
Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and related documentation releases to contract manufacturers.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical datasheets.
Familiarity with navigating BOMs, ECAD (Altium), CAD Viewer (Solidworks, Viewer), PLM systems (Windchill, Teamcenter, Agile), ERP (JDE, SAP) and Requirements Management Systems (PTC Integrity, Polarion).
Proficient in data analysis tools such as Power BI or Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) to support component lifecycle and sourcing decisions.
Strong foundation in circuit analysis in various electronics circuitry such as power, analog, and digital.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.
Demonstrated strong creative thinking and problem-solving toolbox.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Basic Understanding of Manufacturing Processes.
Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Great collaborative and interpersonal relationship skills across multiple job levels
Curious, proactive and strict attention to detail.
Requirements
Knowledge of IEC60601 and ISO13485
Ability to use electronics lab equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc...)
Create and route ECOs/CR/CN; change control process
Experience with SPICE simulation
Knowledgeable with Counterfeit Parts and Materials Control as well as Prohibited Materials Control
Able to read and interpret mechanical and top level assembly drawings.
Knowledge of CAD tools (CREO, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Altium) a plus
