Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our outpatient only oncology department. The APP will be covering clinical oversight for early-phase oncology patients; management of high-acuity and protocol-driven care; daily APP staffing coordination and gap identification; provides advanced clinical care and operational leadership to support safe, efficient delivery of early-phase trials and maintain APP team stability; provides fellowship support (1 board certified fellow annually) and serves as a clinical resource to ensure fellows are supported in managing complex early-phase clinical trial oncology care; additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Schedule: 4-10 hour days or 5-8hour days (day off TBD), weekdays, with one work from home day once off orientation. no nights/weekends/holidays/on-call The APP - Lead reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The APP - Lead in collaboration with other health professionals, provides high quality, cost effective advanced patient care to patients, manages health care systems and influences health care decision-making through expert clinical reasoning, research, and theory-based practice. This role supports department growth and development of APP models of care, coordinates the training and onboarding of new Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within a department, and facilitates professional development opportunities for those APPs. The Lead APP is an advocate and voice for the APP staff at leadership forums and works collaboratively with leadership within the department to provide input into APP performance, evaluations, and competency.
