Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg - Part Time - Nights

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population. Demonstrates nursing unit specific competencies and equipment training, see checklists.
• Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to ensure patient receives consistent, competent and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient when addressing service needs to ensure evidence based quality care of patient.
• Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence to meet the patient's care needs.. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations. Evaluates resources and support needed and uses systems to ensure needs are met.

Requirements

• EDUCATION: MSN, BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma required. Specialty certification in field highly encouraged.
• EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred in an acute care setting but not required.
• LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Licensed RN or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state required.

The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of the specific patient populations. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.
