Frequent bending to retrieve materials / mattress components from lower storage shelves.
Frequent reaching overhead to retrieve components from higher levels of storage.
Frequent pushing and pulling of wheeled carts loaded with components.
Frequent repetitive use of hands/arms handling component parts.
Frequent grasping of component parts.
Frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret documents, including but not limited to safety rules, procedures manual and policy manual.
Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with Department Supervisor, Lead, Coworkers and other personnel.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a practical, methodical way while working with a sense of urgency.
Able to read and follow a written set of procedures.

This position is responsible for gathering mattress components from the shelves in the storage area ("materials supermarket") and from other production ("work in progress") areas to the mattress assembly area. The employee pushes a wheeled cart up and down the storage area aisles and gathers materials based on the "Bill of Material" or "production ticket" and loads it onto a wheeled cart. Once all the materials are on the cart, the employee pushes or pulls the wheeled cart to the applicable mattress assembly area.
