POSITION PURPOSE : The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and administrating outbound shipments of product to customers . This position must ensure or ders are processed per company procedures as well as customer shipment requirements . The coordinator must work closely with the Shipping and Receiving Support Agent, Logistics Coordinator , Sales and production personnel . GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Support all continuous impr ovements in safety, quality , 5S and existing manufacturing processes. Provide feedback to leadership to help resolve quality issues or operational improvements in regards to productivity and procedural changes. Know and abide to all company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE. Embrace the cross training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility. Do daily housekeeping to ensure the work area is always clean and organized . Flexible schedule is required in regards to overtime and start time according to work volumes. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES : Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of product . Maintain all shipping records, keep files and papers organized. Ensure shipping weights and traceability information is correct and recorded . Coordinate outside processing deliveries for pick-up and drop-off with vendors. Serve as a liaison between sales department and production Team Leads . Recommend measures to improve shipping methods and procedures . Confirm shipment information by an swering and relaying telephone and e-mail inquiries. Take pictures of all shipments (Will-Call, LTL, DCI, and FT). Examine contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming and outbound shipment. Shipping product and supplies inventory. Ship/Invoice orders once they are shipped to the customer. Close orders systematically and create the Bill of Lading (BOL) if necessary. Confer and correspond with customer representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications as RMA's or Rework Request Slips. Ensure all doors and frames are being removed on time from the production line to prevent the line from stopping. Log in all product received and put away in correct areas. Assist in enforcing company required PPE. Assist in improving or creating new standard operating procedures. Acknowledge and service customers upon arrival and ensure up to date information on their product. Update reports as necessary. May assist in unloading trucks and/or operating a forklift. REQUIRED SKILLS : Good written and oral communication skills . Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and follow up on tasks . Moderate level of confidentiality. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook . Strong customer service orientation. Intermediate math and analytical skills . Physical Demands : Occasional lifting, up to 30 pounds. Must be able to walk, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch repeatedly. Dexterous with both hands. Ability to stand for extended periods. Work Environment : Fast paced custom metal manufacturing environment. High noise levels. Mild e xposure to airborne particles and dust . EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of shipping experience in a clerk or coordinator role . Experience in a high volume fast paced environment. Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. The expected Base Hourly Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.
