Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a FIRM - Reliability Engineer to join the Reliability & Integrity Engineering team. Reporting to the Reliability & Integrity Engineering Manager, this role will be based in Chevron's office in Bengaluru.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Responsibilities
Steward the Operational Excellence (OE) programs that make up the Facilities Integrity and Reliability Management (FIRM) Process.
Provide reliability & integrity support to operations within Chevron complex process facilities.
Facilitate the identification of HCE per the FIRM HCEM Standard, leveraging Tech Safe studies, drawing data, and process data.
Ensure appropriate labeling of HCE and ICTs in their respective Systems of Record (ORD Software, IDMS, CMMS) and understand the impacts this labeling has on overall asset strategy and subsequent efforts like PM Optimization and IPL Management.
Support gap analysis of existing tasks to required ICTs for HCE, including frequency and acceptance criteria determination.
Provides day‑to‑day leadership for contractor teams, leveraging strong interpersonal skills to align expectations, reinforce standards, and drive on‑time, high‑quality execution.
Applies disciplined management of change practices to implement program enhancements, manage transitions, and sustain long‑term effectiveness without disruption to ongoing operations.
Provide analytical support for reliability and integrity programs across Chevron assets.
Support facilitation and completion of Chevron Reliability Studies, capital projects and fixed equipment integrity initiatives.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards as well as applicable Chevron standards, instructions, and guidelines.
Facilitate the application and use of reliability tools and work processes to identify gaps, prioritize opportunities, and develop recommendations to improve asset performance and operational availability.
Leverage historical operation, reliability, and maintenance data for use in analytical tools and studies to improve asset performance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical , Chemical or materials engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
Demonstrated technical experience in this discipline will be highly regarded
Open to Facilities Engineering/Operations/Maintenance backgrounds; experience using statistics/data analysis/root cause methods; willingness to learn FIRM work processes; strong organization/facilitation; business acumen/cost awareness.
Ability to handle multiple assignments; ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional problem-solving; strong teamwork/relationship-building.
Requirements
Minimum 5 - 10 years of cross-functional experience in a refinery or complex process facility
Reliability Engineering or Asset integrity experience in a complex process facility
Exposure to full cycle of Asset criticality analysis for an oil & gas proc

The Reliability Engineer position in Chevron's ENGINE Center provides reliability expertise to Chevron's operational refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) facilities. This role works collaboratively across multiple disciplines including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and Reliability. The focus of this role is to provide reliability and integrity program support to improve asset performance and operational availability through teamwork, analytical tools, and Facilities Integrity and Reliability Management (FIRM) work processes. This role will be central to the implementation of the FIRM work processes for identifying High Consequence Equipment (HCE) and the development of Integrity Consequence Tasks (ICT) for that HCE.
